Fun Run

My husband has recently purchased some new video/camera gear. He wanted test it out, with me being the guinea pig.  I was reluctant to do it but I know how much he enjoy photography and videography, so I figured I would be supportive and help out.  This is just a little fun run to one of my favorite trails that I frequent.  You’ll be able to see from the video how snowy the trail is right now, which makes for  difficult running.  I hope you enjoy the video he recorded and put together. 😊

  1. GREAT job on the video, love it. I think the best runs for me is when it’s about 32 degs no wind and HUGE snowflakes falling. So peaceful and calming. Ran into that several years ago and could have ran all day. Problem is we get very little snow anymore.
Keep it up, 2 months till your trial run.

      1. We aren’t movie goers in fact the last movie we went to was McFarland USA which was great. The new movie “The Race” about Jesse Owens looks good.
Have a GREAT long run this weekend. Been really windy here but it is March.

      2. I’ll have to check that one out. We aren’t movie goers either but enjoy watching them at home occasionally. Yes, Spring is so close! Have a great running weekend also! 😊

  4. How’s the training going? Is next weekend when you run your marathon. Decent weather here but windy gusting to 30 mph most every day.

    1. Hi Ron, it’s been a struggle. I’ve been meaning to blog lately. I had a slight hiccup with a little hip injury about a month and a half ago. 😦 so I cut way back on my training. Decided not to sign up for the 100 yet, however, I am on track to run the Booneville 50 miler at the end of May (memorial day weekend). And so far (knock on wood) my hip has been good. Thank you for asking. Will need to write up a blog soon. How has your training been going? Any races coming up?

      1. We will be praying for your hip, knee and training between now and Memorial Day weekend. We would come up and assist you and watch but we have Family reunion every year in OKC on that weekend. We have learned a lot working aid stations twice in the 50 and 100 milers down here.
Our last 2 races that we signed up for we couldn’t do. The February Special Olympics run Susan had to be put in hospital for 2 days as she has an outlet obstruction so we have been on a liquid diet for 2 weeks in February and since then till June we are on a soft diet. Then the March leukemia run we were to do in Oklahoma my Mom passed away 2 days before that.
We are still running have Susan up to 11 miles total for the last 3 days and a decent time.
        KEEP RUNNING!!

      2. Oh goodness, I’m so sorry to hear of your moms passing. 😦 your family will be in my prayers. And wow, glad to hear Susan is on the mend. That sounds like no fun at all. Glad to hear you’re both still able to get some running in.
I’ll bet volunteering you get to witness all kinds of stuff. The good and the bad both. I’ve got double 16’s this coming weekend for my training runs. Hopefully the weather will be good.
Have a great week, Ron! 😊

    1. Going great! Thanks for asking. I’ve got just a little over a month until my race. Training and running in warmer temperatures now which is both good and sometimes not so good. Must train in the heat to prepare though. How is running going for you? How is Susan? On the mend?

      1. 4 weeks plus your taper week so an important 4 weeks coming up. Hopefully daytime temperatures won’t be over 80 and a 70 degree high with clouds would be great and no wind. A lot to ask. So training in every kind of weather imaginable is good.

We are still on soft diet till sometime in June. Susan doesn’t feel bad just tired of no salads, popcorn and nuts. The problem is until they go back in with scope have no idea of this diet and horse pills are keeping the outlet from closing back up. We have a lot of people praying.
She’s running 12 miles a week and a long run of 5 miles which is good for her.
Thanks for asking. Enjoy the next 4 weeks.

      2. how’s it going? May 5th we were running and I tripped on sidewalk (no more sidewalks) and broke my right clavicle. Go back to orthopedic surgeon on the 25th for x-ray he seems to think it will heal on its own. Right shoulder and right handed so a struggle. Arm in sling but getting more use of arm.
        Hang in there.

      3. Hey there! I tried replying to your last comment several times and for some reason it wouldn’t go through. I’m so sorry to hear of your fall and broken clavicle. Ouch! Glad to hear no surgery. Hopefully you aren’t in much pain. Praying for a speedy recovery. 1 week til race day. Sounds like some severe weather next weekend too. Yikes and boo to that. 😦

      4. Thanks. I will know more Wednesday and let you know. Tonight was sweet went to high school track regionals where Grandson is regional 800m champ and anchor on 4×800 relay team . Will be running at state next Saturday in Wichita. Praying for you all this week, enjoy your taper week.
